Picking Up The Pieces

Originally written on December 13, 2018, but may be very relevant now in this 'new normal world. I have to share as this old content is helping me too!)

AN ORIGINAL FROM 2016 WHICH I POSTED ON FACEBOOK -

I have realized that not one year is ever easier than the other. Each year comes with its own changes and challenges. We each face our own trials and tribulations…

You may notice that I am using a lot of ellipses ( … ). This is how you can tell there has been some deep introspection on the matter at hand… (There I go once again.)

WARNING!!! – EXPECT MORE INTROSPECTION.

Side note: I think Facebook was so smart by designing the memories from past years tool. It just lets you watch yourself grow. As for people like me who had busy thumbs there on Facebook prior to Uni life I get to literally observe the younger me on a daily basis!

So slightly younger me in 2015 said:

“One of these goals is, of course, not to overlook this God-given gift of writing. I want to continuously and fervently share and impact people through the platforms that have been freely provided to me.”

… (Deeper introspection taking place…)

I could blame it on my studies and say I didn’t have time to sit and put some ink on paper but… I am trying not to be hard on myself at this moment.

So this is how I am going to handle it this time around (invitation to join me!!):

• Write your years resolutions out on paper (or any plans that you want to get done)

Break these down to months. Break them down further to weeks then, of course, you can easily make daily resolutions from there. Print if you must! I say you must. This allows you to have a “daily encounter” with your goals, aims and dreams! If you see it, you are most likely going to do something about it so make sure that these goals are in a place that you can see daily.

• Design your surroundings and environment in such a way that you shape up your Journey. (I will explain further in a post soon!)
  

• Get all the tools you need to get to your destination. – Do you desire to be more productive? Get your time management tool in order. – If you desire to be more organized, go find your planner. – Now, if you want to eat right? ( LOL! This is a serious one for me…) You already know the answer to that one

There is nothing new under the sun! You can find a solution for anything that concerns you. What matters is your approach. My approach then and now is one of having authority over your plans and dreams.

• Authority –  “The power to or right to give orders, make decisions and enforce obedience. The definition literally says it all!

You should have the POWER to give orders to YOURSELF, make DECISIONS by YOURSELF and enforce OBEDIENCE for yourself.

This way you will definitely make a great impact, importantly, on yourself before others.

So once again…

I have made this walk of shame to the Internet’s forefront to display my goals but this time with a difference. I encourage anyone that has art, a talent, gifting or a skill they want to explore, to set off on this amazing journey I have challenged myself to embark on.

It’s all baby steps but you should do what you love and eventually, you will be breezing through your field of interest… Reaching out for Self Actualization.
