I was walking one day, Holding a pack of seeds, Seeds that would grow into flowers Such lovely flowers, Imagine them, Lively stems, Colourful petals, Dewy and sweet looking to the eye…
As I was walking, I stumbled upon a rose, What a beautiful rose it was, The rose had just bloomed, How beautiful was it? Someone must have dropped it. Perhaps forgotten about it? I picked up this rose, It became my rose. This rose is lovely…
I got home, Placed it in my best vase, Watered it.
Every morning I woke up, Admired it.
Days went by, The rose bloomed bright, Crimson, Darkish edges, Perfect rose petals, Velvety.
One sunny afternoon, I glanced at the rose vase, There were red petals were on the table, Some scattered on the floor.
Starting to wither. The stem was left with just a handful.
Felt sad, Hadn’t expected it to happen now. It’s not as if I didn’t see it coming. I was just not ready for it. I was not ready to let go off my admiration. But it eventually had to be done. It was a lovely rose. But now it was gone.
Glanced out my window, My garden was like a desert. Where were my flowers? Where are my seeds? Where did I leave my seeds? The seeds that would have given ME so many more flowers. I can’t find my seeds. I lost my seeds... I was too busy watering someone else's flower.
A flower that had come to term. A flower that was not from my seed. A flower that was not mine.
Don’t water flowers that are not from your garden because their beauty will make you forget about YOUR own seeds.
